If you have just installed Hyper-V Server 2012 R2. You will need to be able to remotely manage it from another computer but you are asking yourself, or Google “How to Remotely Manage Hyper-V Server 2012 R2”. Follow the steps below for the solution.
Enable Remote Desktop (select #7). Also select the ‘Less Secure’ option.
Configure network settings (select #8). Configure as a static IP.
Join Domain (select #1). Rename the server and reboot.
Launch PowerShell. In the cmd window, run the following command: powershell
Run the following commands:
Enable-NetFirewallRule -DisplayGroup “Windows Remote Management”
Enable-NetFirewallRule -DisplayGroup “Remote Event Log Management”
Enable-NetFirewallRule -DisplayGroup “Remote Volume Management”
Set-Service VDS -StartupType Automatic
Reboot the server (select #12).
You should now be able to remotely manage the Hyper-V Server via Hyper-V Manager via windows 8.1 or use Server Manager in Windows Server 2012 R2. As well remote computer management, disk management, event viewer, Device Manager, etc
